Crittenton Hastings House is established.
1961
It is located at 10 Perthshire Road. The result of a merger of the Florence Hastings House and the Crittenton Home and Hospital, it opens the first alternative high school within the Boston Public Schools to enable young, pregnant women in 1962, and after the U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision in 1973, the first independent abortion clinic in Boston. It merges with the Women’s Union and becomes the Women’s Crittenton Union on July 1, 2006. It is renamed Economic Mobility Pathways (EMPath) in 2016.
